How long can I keep a can of baby food for once it has been opened? I did not do any cross-contamination.

If it is in a metal tin, then you should empty the contents into a clean container and keep for no more than 24 hrs.

24 hrs is really the max you should keep baby food once opened.

Its good for a few days just dont feed your baby out of the jar, rather put some food from the jar in a dish and feed him from that. This is so that the saliva doesnt get into the food causing germs and bacteria to spread.

no longer than 24 hours. Also it is important not to use a spoon in the jar otherwise you’ll have to throw the rest of it
use a little bowl and pour the quantity needed in the bowl from the jar.Discard any food left from the baby’s bowl

The Gerber containers say 2 to 3 days within opening..that’s what I’ve always followed.

Never use baby food from a metal can! Never refrigerate metal cans always empty the contents of metal cans into a plastic or glass receptacle, with and air tight lid!

The Gerber Stage 1 fruits and veggies in the little plastic package says “Best if used in one feeding. Refrigerate after opening. Use within 2-3 days after opening.

For a “can” of baby food, I’m not sure.
